Craig Hester here with R2Awatches.com. Today we will be talking about the new automatic Expedition North Pole Ones from Vostok Europe.

These automatic Expeditions are offered in four colors- burnt orange, charcoal gray, matte blue, and Russian Red, which is basically a rose tone gold. All have amazing lume.

Let's look further at the features of the watch. Each Expedition measures in at 47 mm, with a thickness of 17 mm. The strap itself is 24 mm with a double tang buckle. These are big watches, and they may look extra big because there is no bezel. Not oversized, mind you, just big.

All North Pole Ones have a YN55 movement, made by Seiko Epson, and arguably the best made automatic movement on the market.

Each of these watches also contains the K-1 mineral crystal system, which is 4 mm thick. It gives you the best of both worlds. It's a seven on the mohs scale, putting it right between sapphire and mineral. So you get nearly the scratch resistance of Sapphire and nearly the shatter resistance of mineral.
