Kubota MX5400 Hydraulic Leak Easily Repaired

The leak was visible from about the second day I had the new MX5400. It wasn't too much of a leak, but it was a bit aggravating to see a slight oil trail around the work areas all the time. Not wanting to have to haul the tractor back to the dealership 40 miles away, I opted to make the repair myself with them providing the required materials. So today, tools and parts in hand we attacked the problem and solve the issue.
Once on the counter with the defective part, we noticed that the mating surface of the hydraulic block was irregular from the factory supplying those parts to Kubota for the installation of the LA1065 loader. I found out that the tractors are shipped to the dealer minus the loader with the dealer having the responsibility to assemble and install that accessory. In earlier discussions, the service manager told me the problem may potentially be only a pinched O ring. That was not the case. So the replacement machined hydraulic plate, a set of three O-rings and a 2 1/2 gallon container of oil was provided to me under warranty.
The cool thing is I didn't have to haul the tractor back to the dealer and wait for the repair to be done on their schedule then make a second trip to haul it back home. All's well that ends well. And this ended well. At least it's not leaking upon completion of the minor project.....we will test it for real in a few days..... #Kubota, #hydraulic, #tractor
