Who Was Japanese Artist Utagawa Kunisada?

Описание к видео Who Was Japanese Artist Utagawa Kunisada?

Utagawa Kunisada (sometimes known as Toyokuni III) was Japan's most prolific, famous, and successful woodblock print artist. With over 20,000 designs to his credit, his innovative studio dominated the ukiyoe scene for over 50 years. Join me as we discuss his background, and then review some of the many print series he published between 1815 and 1865. We will examine a couple of his Tokaido series and his interesting collaboration with Hiroshige. Of course we will review several of his bijin-ga series. I will also rant a bit about how little we know about how many prints were actually published during the Edo and Meji eras. Don't forget to check out our selection of original Kunisada woodblock prints available at miegallery.com. #woodblockprint #ukiyoe #kunisada #utagawa kunisada #Toyokuni
