My patients often ask me, "Doctor, for eye hygiene, to keep the eyes clean, should we wash our eyes frequently with water, should we wash our eyes with water 5 to 6 times a day?"
Well let me tell you that this habit of splashing water in the eyes is very bad, there are some Natural Oils in our eyes that work to keep the eyes lubricated. But when you wash your eyes again and again with water, these natural oils get washed away and there can be a problem of dryness in the eyes.
I see patients with dryness every day, and their condition is very poor, every 10-15 days. Drops have to be put in the eyes in a minute and it becomes very difficult to live a normal life,
So let your eyes remain natural, there is no need to wash your eyes with water again and again

अक्सर मेरे Patients मेरे से पूछते हैं कि “डॉक्टर साहब आँखों की Hygiene के लिए आँखों को साफ-सुथरा रखने के लिए क्या हमें अपनी आँखों को बार-बार पानी से धोना चाहिए क्या हमें दिन में 5 से 6 बार आँखों में पानी के छपके मारने चाहिए Well मैं आपको बता दूं कि ये आँखों में पानी के छपके मारने की आदत बहुत ही ख़राब आदत है देखिए हमारी आंखों में कुछ Natural Oils होते हैं जिनका काम होता है आँखों को lubricate करके रखना लेकिन जब आप बार-बार आँखों को पानी से धोते हैं तो ये Natural Oils जो हैं ये धुल जाते हैं और आँखों में dryness की Problem बन सकती है और dryness के Patients को मैं रोज देखता हूँ बहुत ही बेचारे तंग होते हैं हर 10-15 मिनट में आँखों में Drops डालनी पड़ती है और Normal Life जीना बहुत ही ज़्यादा मुश्किल हो जाता है तो अपनी आँखों को Natural रहने दीजिए कोई जरूरत नहीं है आँखों को बार-बार पानी से धोने की।
