On this episode we are taking an 11 year journey! We are comparing one of our favorite Anejos against its older self OR against its younger self. What?

We have a unique opportunity to try a brand of Tequila that spans an 11 year gap between them. We are tasting Tequila Tapatio Anejo! We have a Lot 1(!), 1-Liter bottle from 2012(!) and we have a 750ml bottle from 2023, Lot 36,  that Amigo Dominic, once again, got for his birthday.

• Made by La Alteña distillery, founded by Don Felipe Camarena Hernández in 1937

• From 100% blue weber agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco

• Aged for 18 months in used bourbon barrels, 6 months more than required

• Distilled to 114 proof, stored in stainless or barrels, then cut to bottling proof

What to expect? With more oak aging you’ll sip the richness of vanilla and cacao, finely balanced with the hint of lime zest.
