Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Air Lift 1000 rear air helper bags on a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. Now our neighbor today is putting airbags on their suspension, and that's because they tow a trailer so that tongue weight pushes down and it causes the Pathfinder to squat down, which this is not exactly the heaviest duty towing but to have those airbags to help that just kinda lift that back up, it's gonna make the Pathfinder feel like it can tow it a little bit better, because you're supplementing the suspension with a thousand pounds of load capacity. So that's really gonna help this out. And another application, or a few different applications would be if you take this on vacation and you load up a cargo carrier or if you have a mobility scooter or even a heavy bike rack, sometimes that's just gonna squat down and you're not gonna get a great ride. So adding a little bit of air to your bags will help supplement that, giving you a better driving experience. And this is what your airbags will look like when they're installed.

And they're polyurethane bags, so they are flexible and they just slip in between the coils of your spring and that way it's not taking up any extra space. There's no crazy mounting of brackets or anything like that. They just simply kind of pop into place. And then really all you have to do is run your airlines. Now this can be done in two different configurations.

Right now we have this teed off to where it's gonna be a single path, meaning one Schrader valve will fill both bags and that way they'll be even. But you can actually run them in a dual path system and you can have individual control of each bag. Now these have a thousand pound load leveling capacity and that's not gonna necessarily give you a thousand pounds more of hauling or towing capacity. It's just gonna support that extra weight. So really this is just gonna supplement your factory suspension.

And when this fills up, it's going to just kind of allow it to kind of give it a little bit of firmness to allow your springs to really work and not overload the suspension. So it's really gonna supplement your factory stuff. And the great part is you can adjust the PSI to really get that perfect ride comfort that you're looking for while towing. Now keep in mind these do have to be kept at a minimum of five PSI so you do want to make sure that you're checking those regularly. Leaks can occur over time, so you just wanna make sure that little bit of pressure will hold that bag's form and you don't want to go over 35 PSI.

So I do recommend checking those occasionally. And other than that, it's a pretty easy install and it's gonna make your towing experience that much better. What's also great about this Pathfinder install is you can actually have a spot here where a plastic push pin was. So there's no drilling required. Really, all that you need is just something to cut your airline tubes, some soapy water and a pair of pliers to get your clips in place. But other than that, this is a pretty simple install. The hardest part is really just squeezing the bags in between the coils, but after that you just run your lines and it's pretty easy to do. So I'm gonna walk you through all the steps to make sure you got yours installed. Now to begin our installation, we're obviously on a lift but we're gonna be using a trans jack to raise up the rear of the vehicle. And you're gonna wanna do the same. So if you're at home, chalk your front wheels and then you're going to want to jack up. You could use your hitch or somewhere basically to where that suspension's gonna drop down and that's gonna give us a bigger window to be able to get these bags in place. So go ahead, get your vehicle raised up in the rear. Now our bags that are going to fit in the coils here and you can see that it's gonna be pretty large compared to that, but we can squeeze these down. So just pull the cap off and you're gonna wanna flatten it down as much as possible. And then once you get that air kind of pushed out you can put the cap on and it's gonna kind of hold this shape but we really wanna compress this and that way we can kind of squeeze this together kinda in a hot dog bun shape and that way we can pinch it in and get it into our coils. Now something else that kind of helps is spraying these down with a little bit of soap water. It'll just kind of allow this to slip in a little bit better. So you might want to go ahead and clean your coils off. Now in feeding it in, we're gonna want our air fitting facing d
