My new book is out! It's called Massage Is Weird: https://massagesloth.com/book/
Got a client with tingling fingers and frequent "pins and needles" at night? Try this slow, gentle, myofascial approach. As always, stay well within your client's pain threshold, and do be aware of the potential for anterior neck massage to cause anxiety.

The protocol: Warm the traps and lateral neck using bilateral petrissage, slowly, allowing the tissue to "melt" under your fingers. Follow by spreading the chest and neck fascia, going slowly enough to allow the nervous system to acclimate to the new stimuli. Address the scalenes, superior and inferior aspects of the clavicle, and the general area of pectoralis minor. Finish my mobilizing the shoulder joint itself, as well as the tissues as they proceed distally down the arm.

I reference some self-massage, which you can find here:    • Self-massage for thoracic outlet synd...
