I apologize for the delay. In the background of these past few months I’ve been amassing the octavina, piccolo bandurria, and filipino bandurria to the laud I already had prepared and so doing so for the bandurria prima was what took the most time unfortunately. I was thinking, what theme could be interesting for rondalla and I thought that perhaps revisiting Flandre’s theme under such a premise might be intriguing.

And I will say that it certainly was. There were more bumps than I actually had anticipated, some of the melody needed to be redone to be rematted to the 3/4 and 6/8 or this arrangement. Its funny because how the song, or well the cool & create remix, are often referred as the death waltz. Thats part as to why I wanted to add the last brutal sister part at the end, but also because I already had a more intense section in the beginning. So it made sense to cycle back into it for the end.

And so aside from the octavina, piccolo bandurria, and filipino bandurria, for this arrangement I also had to prepare a cuban laud which isn’t finished unfortunately, another upright bass from the ones I’ve already used, and the baroque-malleted timpani. I definitely wanted to make sure it sounded well, so I do hope it did.

As for the art, the pañuelo/alampay design I went for with flandre was something I took as an idea. Those bits of clothing made out of silk were really fun to do.
