Описание к видео Driving around Fort Smith, Arkansas with Ed Golden in 1975

In 1975, Ed Golden takes the back road to Fort Chaffee to pick up his mother who is working at the PX during the time that Fort Chaffee was used as one of the Vietnamese Relocation centers.

Ed then swings by Whirlpool running at full capacity with thousands of well paid employees on his way to his home in Colony South.

He then takes off again heading for downtown Fort Smith stopping at Johnson-Sayers, for decades the Bedford Camera and Video of those days, well, minute the video. The downtown Malco Theater will live on for a few more years. Enjoy a Stag beer lately?

From here he sporadically jumps around town, Towson Avenue, then Rogers Avenue, Towson Avenue again, Central Mall, IHOP up on the hill, Pizza Hut, Penney’s Auto Center, Fentress Mortuary on North A street, KFSA-TV who art in Johnson, Arkansas these days. The Big Grand, Garrison again, McCann Photo Company, then to North 10th street to pass by the domain of Budge Bartlett, the king of junk!

Back to Grand Avenue the very short South 10th street looking at the SWTR, Superior Motor Exchange originally Hendricks Motor Company, and on and on! So much has changed since 1975!
