British army mess tin lasagne

The fresh pasta sheets from Tesco are a great fit for my British army mess tins so I thought I would make a simple beef lasagne in them

I'm not a fan of bechamel sauce so didn't make one but you can get a powder version that's easy to make even when camping if you wish 😉

First I fried a small chopped onion and a clove of garlic and added about 125g of minced beef, once that was browned I added an oxo cube.

Great thing about sauces like this is you can add whatever you want but I kept mine basic as I wanted to keep it minimal as I would if I was camping somewhere other than the garden as we all are at the moment

So I used some tomato puree and water rather than chopped tomatoes before added some dried oregano and basil

Now my sauce was ready I oiled the second pan and placed a sheet of pasta on the bottom a layer of sauce, pasta, sauce, pasta and finally grated cheese on top

Quick rinse of the first pan and place it on top so you can add coals to make a mini oven and bake for thirty minutes

The PSCOOK stove is a good fit for these pans for this method and it includes a pocket bellows which is very handy
