Karen Family Arrested After Bullying Police - Officers of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission were on duty at the Vilano Boat Ramp, equipped with bodycams. While on patrol, an officer witnessed a vessel, operated by a Hispanic male, approach the dock and disembark a male passenger. The vessel then proceeded to maneuver erratically in a circular motion amidst other boat traffic nearby, all captured on the officer's bodycam footage. Upon returning to the dock, the operator displayed signs of impairment, prompting the officer to administer Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST), all recorded on the bodycam, leading to the arrest of the operator for Boating Under the Influence (BUI).

As the officer was handling the arrest, a family member approached and began interfering with the proceedings, which was also documented on the bodycam footage. Despite warnings to refrain from interference, the individual persisted, necessitating the officer to request assistance from local law enforcement, a request caught on the bodycam audio. Subsequently, another family member intervened, demanding to know the reason for the arrest, with the bodycam recording the entire exchange.

Despite explanations provided by the officer, the individual continued to disrupt the situation, escalating into verbal confrontations and attempts to evade arrest, all captured on the bodycam. With the arrival of officers from the St. Augustine Police Department, attempts were made to apprehend the disruptive individuals, with the bodycam capturing the entire arrest process. One family member resisted arrest, resulting in physical altercation and eventual restraint by law enforcement, footage that will be crucial for the subsequent legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the officer, concerned for the safety of all parties involved, had emergency medical services evaluate the arrested vessel operator, who claimed to be diabetic, with the bodycam recording the interaction for documentation purposes.

Ultimately, both family members were transported to the St. Johns County Jail and booked for charges of Resisting and Opposing, with the bodycam footage serving as evidence of the events that unfolded at the Vilano Boat Ramp on that day. The officer proceeded to transport the vessel operator to the jail for booking, concluding the incident with a comprehensive record of the events thanks to the bodycam.
