After a lot of experimentation with synth gear, trying to build a small and compact setup with just a few devices, I think I have found my perfect setup. A super versatile and powerful combo. The Deluge is my main device, but it was not complete till it met the iPad together with a USB audio interface.

I have seen a lot of other fellow youtubers connect everything, including the iPad, through a mixer, to the Deluge line in for doing audio looping. But the iPad can do better for your Deluge than just being an audio source.

In this video consisting of two parts (this is Part 1), I will show you how I connected this two lovely devices in a more creative way, allowing you for more expression and possibilities!

A WORD OF CAUTION regarding mixers with USB interface, which are not the same thing as a USB audio interface. I had previously experience with two usb mixers (behringer xenyx 802 and Yamaha AG03). Although they provide you with digital input and output shown within AUM, normally what they do is summing the raw audio from your analog inputs to the sound you send from AUM to outputs 1/2, so you can't listen to just what you have in AUM by connecting the headphones to the mixer, you will also hear the dry signal from the inputs. What I did to bypass this issue was to connect a TRS cable for headphones in the iPad That way AUM will override usb mixer output with headphones port, but anyway I was missing the resampling output so that is why I decided to move from mixers to audio interfaces
