5 DAYS at subzero CAMPING. - Twizel Hoar frost 2024

The video even I've been waiting for... New Zealands winter landscape at it's best. In the Mackenzie basin, thick fog and sub zero temps for multiple days in a row in and around Twizel.
It's a magical experience to be living amongst the hoar frost and we are grateful that we can tow our caravan into this unique environment and landscape with the knowledge we can leave if we need to.
5 days of sub Zero Temps in an Australian caravan is no easy feat. We feel we've got this well mastered and managed to keep water flowing from the tanks, and the caravan powered despite major battery issues.
It's totally worth it to park up in this almost once a year winter landscape though, and if winters not for you, we hope you enjoy the magic of the best kind of winter, through our video.
