New Tygart Flyer Train and Tunnel Cab Ride - Extended Version

Описание к видео New Tygart Flyer Train and Tunnel Cab Ride - Extended Version

This is an extended version of "Train Cab Ride Thru Cheat Mtn Tunnel".
I did this video for my elementary school students so they could view this enjoyable ride on the Durbin and Greenbrier Valley's New Tygart Flyer. The company uses engines from the defunct Western Maryland Railroad.
The trip follows a winding route up the mountains near Elkins, WV, and includes a brief stop at the scenic High Falls of Cheat.
Then I was given permission to ride in the engine's cab for the return trip. We begin by passing though an abandoned 3 junction wye originally built by the Coal and Iron Railroad which connected Elkins and Durbin. The wye is now connected to the West Fork Trail.
Following this we hear Terry, the engineer, blow the whistle through several crossings. Then he gives us a demonstration of how the train's and engine's brakes work.
Finally, we get a stunning view from the cab of the narrow, fascinating "S" shaped Cheat Mountain Tunnel.
