Ukde tandla bhakri is a traditional thick dosa made from Boiled rice and is very healthy and filling... This dosa batter is usually patted on tava with fingers. I am making it but thinner version of the dosa. My grandma used to make it during our evening snack for us while we come back from school and we used to enjoy it hot, right from the tava with a dolop of butter... This can be a very filling dosa
Usually this dosa does not require an accompaniment but you can definitely dunk it in homemade fresh butter for a super delicious breakfast... Just a flashback on my childhood day's observation & discussion made in home. Ukde Tandla Bhakri was traditionally ground in a manual grinder which was a must in every house back then - called " ragodo ". As there was no refrigerators then,the vessel with batter would be placed on a thali with water standing in it. This way the batter wouldn't turn sour, if it was to be kept for longer time or for any leftover batter. The recipe is very simple and quick except for the soaking time as it does'nt require fermentation. Do try and enjoy this traditional breakfast.
