In May 2023, Wontanara INC & Wontanara Percussions LLC took an educational trip to Guinea to learn more about the culture, lifestyle, history, economy, and more!
As a part of our mission we aimed to help the local artists with accomplishing a few goals for their group or company. One of the many companies we had the pleasure of assisting was the lgenendary “Boka Juniors.” Enjoy the moments with Wontanara Percussions LLC & Wontanara INC. with the performing company, Boka Juniors, to produce a very special video project live from Guinea, West Africa!
In this video you will experience original and energetic rhythms and arrangements from the group and it’s founder, the late great Ibrahima “Boka” Camara, see vibrant costumes, and witness the passion that comes from these talented musicians.
We are grateful to the members of Boka Juniors, Les Ballet De Matam, and the greater Matam community and artists for showing up to enjoy either as an artist or audience member!

Our mission is to preserve and share the world of our traditions, heritage, knowledge, and experience through arts via workshops, conferences, educational classes, and more.
We curate learning experiences that bringing together the expertise of individuals from West Africa and America who are knowledgeable of traditional culture, to captivate our community with instructional intensives, diversity and inclusion programs, youth mentorship and education in the arts, community fundraising, health and wellness workshops, and culminating performances.
Wontanara’s vision is to inspire, educate and entertain through its distinct and engaging cultural and artistic offerings that reflect the diversity of West Africa. Not just through the arts but through education, wellness programs, and more. Wontanara Inc. is made up of experienced professional teachers, instrument manufacturers and repairers that offer quality products and educational services, and highly experienced Master Teachers from Guinea, West Africa and other countries who bring excitement, joy, wisdom and deep structured knowledge of Africa’s rich cultures to the dance floor and other arts experiences we offer!
