How to use CHKDSK in command prompt

In this video, I will teach you on how to use CHKDSK (short for "check disk") is a command-line utility program that checks the integrity and consistency of a file system on a hard drive or storage device. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use CHKDSK

1. Open the Command Prompt: Press the "Windows + R" keys on your keyboard, type "cmd" in the Run dialog box, and hit Enter to open the Command Prompt.
2. Choose the drive to scan: Type the drive letter (e.g., C:) followed by a colon in the Command Prompt window. This specifies the drive that you want to scan with CHKDSK.
3. Run CHKDSK: Type "chkdsk" followed by the drive letter and a colon, and then add any additional parameters as needed. For example, you can use the "/f" switch to fix errors automatically, or "/r" to scan for bad sectors and recover readable information.
4. Wait for CHKDSK to finish: Depending on the size of the drive and the amount of data stored on it, CHKDSK may take several minutes to complete. You can monitor its progress in the Command Prompt window.
