Описание к видео SS Shieldhall last surviving operational steam ship out on of Southampton 04/05/24

SS Shieldhall is a steam powered Clyde Built Slurry carrier. it is oil fired with four boilers and twin screws. It was built in 1955 and is the largest working steam steam ship in the UK. Operating out of Glasgow to dump sewage and slurry it later moved to Southampton in 1977 and worked until 1985 with Southern Water. It is owned by the Solent Steam Packet Limited a charity and part of the historic ship collection. We went into The Solent and back to watch the Saturday evening cruise ship departures. Looking at the engine room, bridge and working parts of the ship. We see a lot of activity of cruise, ferry and cargo ships. Copyright and all rights reserved Bob Tiller 04th May 2024
