The entire creative class faces a challenge where whiteness is privileged and Black creatives risk erasure in the larger creative class. Diversity and inclusion are given lip service but few efforts have been made in the way actionary steps to address these problems. Our efforts to build a more inclusive industry must take this reality into account. My talk attempts to look at how we must use risk as our advocate to push boundaries and challenge the status quo. Risk is a part of the work ALL creatives must to do. This also includes facing the realities of the racial divide in the creative class. This begins by acknowledging, accepting, Trusting, and Honoring the contributions of all.
