BMW R1150 RT : Boxer Reise Tour

Featuring the BMW R1150 RT registered in 2003.

It is probably the most comfortable bike I ever owned. I use it especially for long distances, such as holidays to Sauerland, Eifel, Vogezen and the French Alpes. The seat on the bike is unsurpassed, even after many hours and miles.

The boxer engine is quite simple, keeps on running at all times and the enforced brakes are really awesome, especially in the mountains going downhill. The wind protection is important, maintaining speeds around 130 km/u on the highways in Germany and France with the adjustable Z Technics screen. Once there, I choose the smaller N and D roads, the steering characteristics of the BMW are superb with small roads or heavy corners.

For shorter distances or very hot weather, I use my Yamaha TDM 900.
