Living 6 Weeks In Turkey IS NOT What We Expected

Описание к видео Living 6 Weeks In Turkey IS NOT What We Expected

We lived 6 weeks in the beautiful country of Turkey.

Turkey used to be one of the cheaper countries to visit in Europe, but that has changed over the last year or two with inflation. Prices have increased so much and it's no longer cheap.

We weren't quite prepared for this, but we made the best of our time here. We started out in Antalya where we stayed for a little under 3 weeks. It's a beautiful coastal town and has lots to do. We share our experience visiting the Old Town Bazaar and exploring the old town of Kaleici.

We then made our was to Side for a week long vacation at the Side Mare resort. This was our first true vacation since we started traveling over a year ago. It is an all inclusive resort so most of our days were spent at the pool and eating at the buffets. We did make it out for a day to the ancient city to explore however and brought you along to see the ancient ruins.

Next we made our way to the capital city of Istanbul where we stayed for another two weeks. Istanbul is a large city but with old town vibes. It's quite walkable and has tons to do. It's also the only city in the world that occupies both Asia and Europe. We visited the Asia side of Istanbul while we were here and documented the experience.

During our stay in Istanbul, we booked a quick trip to Cappadocia. I'm so glad we included this trip in our plans because it turned out to be the highlight of our time in Turkey. We stayed for a total of 4 days and 3 nights at the Adelya Cave Hotel.

Each day was filled with adventure as we explored the city of Goreme, woke up early one day to catch the magical experience of the Hot Air balloons floating above us, explored an ancient castle made from volcanic stone called Uchisar Castle, and ventured underground through the world's largest underground city at Derinkuyu. We documented all 3 days of our adventures to share with you.

We then returned to Istanbul and before leaving, we wanted to experience one of the World's largest and oldest markets; The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. One of our favorite things to do when visiting a city is to check out the local markets and this was one of the largest we've ever been to. We didn't get to explore it all, but we bring you along on our journey as we sample various Turkish Delights, Turkish Tea, and allow the kids to find something to spend 200 Turkish Lira on. It was a great time.

Overall our experience living 6 weeks in Turkey was not what we expected because of the high prices, we enjoyed our time here and made some lasting memories.

Thank you so much for watching!
