Exploring the amazing gardens and architecture at the Sam Maloof house!

Hey there! I'd love for you guys to join me and my fam on this little garden tour of the Sam Maloof House in Alta Loma, CA (accidentally put Claremont in the vid ...sorry!!). Sam Maloof was an incredible furniture designer...BUT his talent didn't stop there. His vision overlapped into the amazing architecture and design of his home and landscape. Since his passing in 2009, the SAM AND ALFREDA MALOOF FOUNDATION FOR ARTS AND CRAFTS caries on his legacy by hosting unique art exhibits as well as self-guided garden/landscape tours. The garden, which I am of course most interested in :) is packed with fantastic California native plants...the perfect setting for this type of garden as the house is situated right at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountain Range. Decomposed granite pathways meander through the space taking you on a little adventure of various types of art installations...with some amazingly unique pieces I must say!

The day we went, there was a really fantastic wildlife advocacy art display inside (Wildlife Project by Wendy Maruyama). There were intricately crafted nearly life-size elephant headsIt's definitely worth the day trip over there to see some beautiful art, architecture, and a nicely manicured CA native landscape.
