572 Big Block 1968 Chevy Chevelle Malibu: ORIGINAL OWNER

When Cooter bought his 1968 Chevelle new I'm sure he never thought he would still be driving it 5 decades later but here he is. Let me give to you this awesome piece of automotive history! Cooter's 68 Chevelle is paired with a monster 572 Big block Chevy and a GM 700R4 transmission. But this engine isn't the first power plant that has been in the car. Originally a 307 paired with a 2 speed powerglide this car quickly went through a series of changes: the 307 changed to a 327, then a 350, then a 396 big block, then a 427 and finally a 572. Now GM never offered the 572 in a production vehicle so this was only available many years after this car was built. So even though the car looks more or less like it did back in 68 (minus the huge rear end/tires) the internals are as custom as you can get. At the same time Cooter has put in a lot of work into the interior, gauges, and streetability (Power steering, AC etc). Super cool story and a fun ride, was a pleasure to hangout with some oldschool car guys still keeping the game alive.
