Sewing 40’s style SUMMER CLOTHES from bedsheets (just in time for the end of summer 😭)

It was a lot of fun (and a lot of work) upcycling these bed sheets into some summer outfits/a new summer wardrobe, but I am SO HAPPY with how they came out!

And while the splotchy fabric dye results are unfortunate, they're still totally wearable and I will absolutely be wearing them! Sewing with recycled or upcycled materials is always a bit of an experiment, but I enjoy having a cool me made wardrobe section enough that it makes all the surprises and mishaps worth it. 😅

Also, I'm totally in love with how these vintage style/40s style trousers (or pants, for those on the other side of the Atlantic) look on me and fit me! I knew wide legged trousers were a good look for me, but I didn't realise HOW good until I was editing the footage!


The patterns I used for these ~highly altered~ garments are based on are Style 3988 (trousers), NEW LOOK N6594 (blouse) and McCall’s Costumes M4696 (puffy sleeves).
