What I Learned from this 1949 Dress Manual: Clothing for Moderns (a dramatic reading)

Описание к видео What I Learned from this 1949 Dress Manual: Clothing for Moderns (a dramatic reading)

I read through my Grandmother's home economics textbook and OH BOY, was it hilarious! Saying that, I did learn a lot about fashion and sewing techniques of the late 1940's and what was thought of as right and proper for college women at the time.

It's always fascinating to look through books like this that give so much context to the time period of the vintage clothing, sewing and fashion that I love! Even if some of what Clothing for Moderns and Mabel D Erwin had to say does sound pretty stuffy and strange by today's standards!

But for my Grandma, in her house craft and domestic science teacher training of the early 1950's, I'm sure this book made at least a bit more sense!
