Granite Peak, Montana - Southwest Ramp Route

Описание к видео Granite Peak, Montana - Southwest Ramp Route

Early Sept. 2023
At 12,807 ft, Granite Peak stands as the tallest point in Montana and one of the more difficult 50 state high points. The Southwest Ramp route begins at the TH off Lulu Pass, just north of Cooke City.
This was hands down the best overnighter I've done - strangely perfect weather and miles and miles of stream-crossed hills and meadows helped the 50+ lb pack melt away. (almost)
In the end I fell just a couple hundred feet shy of the summit, but the last move felt just beyond my reach. Gotta listen to the gut when you're talking big exposure.
27 miles, 5,400ft total gain, 14.5 moving hours - nearly there
