1- the Dodecanese Lyra

The Dodekanisian lyra is a pear shaped bowed instrument that is played in the south East Aegean islands. It is tuned A D G(high) and the bow characteristically has bells that offer the instrumentalist the ability to play rhythm and melody simultaneously. This lyra was made by M. Balaskas (Rhodes)
