Waqas Haider belongs to a very small village of Multan and through his hard work and passion, he secured admission at LUMS. He graduated from LUMS with a Management Science degree and with the honor to be the first valedictorian of LUMS.

In 2016, Waqas laid the foundation of his student-run project Chiraagh which aims to bridge the socio-economic gap by empowering the youth of Pakistan. As once someone bore the educational expenses for Waqas since 2016 Chiraagh has fundraised and paid the educational expenses of over 240 university students across Pakistan. Moreover, Chiraagh is bearing all the educational expenses of 52 students from his village, Lahore and Jhang. Moreover, to empower his community, Waqas established Chiraagh Vocational Training School in Basti Dhup Sari, Multan which aims to capacitate young girls from the village. The school is not only providing dressmaking skills to young girls but students undergo an adult literacy program, and digital literacy program and most importantly are provided sports facilities as well. Lastly, to provide students with earning opportunities, Chiraagh launched a social clothing brand - Girah which symbolizes different threads of our community, and this brand Girah aims to connect these threads for the prosperity and empowerment of all strata of our country.

Pakistan Super League is a franchise T20 cricket tournament organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Top international and local cricketers represent six cities of Pakistan.
