Dr. Lambros Malafouris is a Professor of Cognitive and Anthropological Archaeology at the University of Oxford. His research interests lie in the interaction between cognition and material culture and the effects of materiality in human cognitive life, past and present. He has explored topics extending from early stone tools and personal decoration, to the emergence of symbolic technologies of more recent periods, to the latest innovations in digital techniques and media, using insights gained from archaeological and anthropological study of material culture to understand the creative entanglement between the human mind and material forms.
