Professor Emeritus Tim Ingold has made pathbreaking contributions to our understanding of human-environment and human-material relations. He has carried out fieldwork among Saami and Finnish people in Lapland and has written extensively on the environment, technology, and social organization in the circumpolar north, on animals in human society, and on human ecology and evolutionary theory. His more recent work explores environment perception and skilled practice, and the links between anthropology, archaeology, art, and architecture.
