[0:00] Introduction
[3:44] Ice Dyeing general instructions
[5:06] Presoak the silk fiber
1/3 cup white vinegar + 8 cups of warm water for ~24 hours
[6:50] The ice dyeing set up
A dry skein of KnitPicks Stroll underneath to catch the dripping liquid
[9:10] Adding the ice
[11:03] Adding the dye and citric acid onto the ice
[15:25] Adding Citric Acid Powder on top of the ice
[17:36] Wait all day for the ice to melt outside
[19:11] Most of the Ice Melted after 2 hours
COver with foil and leave in the sun for a few hours
After a while, pour some 1/3-1/2 cup vinegar into the water on the stroll drip through
[23:53] 4 PM - preparing to heat set
[25:26] Transfer to Steam Basket
Steam set for 30 minutes
[26:41] Washing the silk
[32:24] Heat Setting and Washing Yarn Mop 1
Transfer to a catering steam pan, add more vinegar, and heat set for 30+ minutes. Let the yarn cool completely in the pan.
