CUSTOMS ROLE ON SUSTAINABILITY AND DIGITAL ECONOMY ⚫ Day 1

The purpose of the 3rd WCO RTC Indonesia International Conference: Customs Role on
Sustainability and Digital Economy is as a form capacity building, content development,
and knowledge dissemination through academic research. The objectives are as follows:
1. To develop and explore knowledge, understanding, and best practices on customs
administration related to the digitization of customs procedures and documents,
customs system automation, utilization of data analytics, customs data and information
exchange, and other aspects related to the customs' role in the digital economy.
2. To develop and explore knowledge, understanding, and best practices on customs
administration related to customs systems that support environmental sustainability,
prevention and monitoring of illegal commodity smuggling that harms the environment,
support the circular economy, waste management, renewable energy, and other
aspects related to the customs' role in sustainability.
3. To present, share, and discuss the results of developed ideas, concepts, and
experiences that provide added value through selected academic papers related to the
discussed subthemes (sustainability and digital economy).
4. To create opportunities for expanding communication networks and cooperation
among customs authorities between countries, institutions, and academic bodies with
the aim of developing future international conference activities or similar activities
focused on research and data-based customs human resource capacity building.
5. To provide alternative solutions to challenges and opportunities in customs
administration in the future, whether in the form of regulations, practices, or systems
related to sustainability and the digital economy.
