Over-the-Air Software Updates

Ready to upgrade your connected car experience? Introducing Over-the-Air Software Updates from Uconnect.

Just like your smartphone receives seamless updates over-the-air, your Uconnect system may receive similar updates which provide enhanced security and functionality.

SUPER: Over-the-Air updates are available on selected Uconnect Systems.

How does it work? Well, when an update becomes available for your system, you’ll see a message similar to this on your screen.

If you’re ready to perform the update, press UPDATE NOW. Otherwise, select LATER.

The initial phase of the update can take 15 to 20 minutes, so be sure you’ve got enough time set aside.

When you’re ready to update, keep the vehicle in Park. Make sure the ignition is in the Run position, although the engine itself does not need to be on. If you do start the engine, make sure the vehicle is outside. If the ignition is turned off during this phase, the update will cancel, and you’ll have to start over.

Once the initial phase has completed, you’ll see a message similar to this letting you know you can turn off the vehicle. The update will complete on its own.
