Paint Beautiful Skies at Sunrise and Sunset

PAINT CONVINCING SKIES IN WATERCOLOUR - SUNRISE & SUNSET

In this video I show you how to paint convincing skies, working in watercolour, at sunrise and sunset. Firstly, I paint the sky at dawn using a reference from Middle Beach in Studland Bay. I then paint the sky at sunset, overlooking the bay.

We cover a range of different techniques, including:

Working wet-on-wet
Colour choice to achieve different atmospheres
Identifying different layers in the sky and painting them in 2 washes
Understanding colour temperature
