[1:58] Presoaking the yarn
300 g Swish DK yarn
[2:11] Measuring and Mixing the Navy Dye
Dark Navy Acid dye from Dharma
0.8 g dark navy and dissolved in warm tap water
[2:53] The glazing dyebath
1 cup of white vinegar to 32 cups of water in a 12 qt kettle + the 0.8 g of navy dye we measured up.
COLD!
[3:41] Add the yarn
The dyebath is still cold, I just turned on the heat.
Add the yarn, stir a bit. Let it heat up.
Wait 30 minutes to check back in
[4:54] My Thoughts on Glazing Yarn
[6:34] Removing the glazed yarn from the pot
[8:20] The dyebath for speckling the yarn
Use some water from the glazing
[9:31] Speckling
Using Pink Orchid and Tangelo mixed with citric acid
Heavy speckle, wait 10 min before flipping to add more dye to the other side
