The Cromer Lifeboats 1804-2004

Описание к видео The Cromer Lifeboats 1804-2004

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution, the RNLI, was established as a service 'to save lives at sea' in 1824 and is now celebrating two centuries of such work. Several counties, including Suffolk and Norfolk, had established their lifeboat service at earlier dates but all would eventually be incorporated into the RNLI.
A lifeboat station was established at Cromer in 1804, under the guidance of Lord Suffield, who would later play a role with the national body. Cromer Lifeboat station celebrated its bicentenary in 2004 and this video was made for that occasion. It was initially released on videotape and DVD, but we're pleased now to be able to make it available through the Internet.
