24年前，日本人西村純來到爺爺的故鄉－台灣，他想為爺爺圓一個尋親夢。​
​
為了維繫這段台日親情，西村決定在台灣學中文。這也讓他遇到另一半宜鑫，不但為了老婆定居台灣，還變成愛下廚的煮夫！​

婚後，兩人一起經營日本商店。然而，夫妻相差十歲，一起工作又一起生活，感情備受考驗。​

宜鑫：「老夫老妻已經沒什麼好聊，夫妻24小時都在一起，開店就要開始講話，好累喔！」​

下班回到家也不輕鬆，光是「洗碗」這件家事，就能看出台灣人跟日本人的生活習慣大不同！​

他們為了孩子努力賺錢，卻也犧牲陪伴孩子的時間，導致親子關係出狀況！兩夫妻該怎麼在工作和家庭間找到平衡點呢？​

The stereotype that all Japanese men are male chauvinists still prevails, but Jun Nishimura shows the times they are a-changin. 49-year-old Jun does all the housekeeping and cooking -minus the laundry - and allows his Taiwanese wife, Yi-shin, to manage the family finances. In this episode, we meet Jun and Yi-shin as they navigate the tricky waters of raising kids with running their own business. Cross-cultural marriages face added challenges, so what novel communication strategy has the couple adopted for the inevitable arguments? Despite a 10-year age gap, parental disapproval, and anxiety about Japanese stereotypes, Yi-shin still took the big leap. What won her heart over? With family in both Taiwan and Japan, how have the family faired during the trials and tribulations of the Covid pandemic?​
