Lower Peninsula Lloyd Rapelje Officer Recruit Training Academy Graduation

On Friday, September 4, 2020, at a graduation ceremony held in Lansing, the department welcomed 82 new officers to the Michigan Department of Corrections. Please join us in congratulating the graduates of the Lower Peninsula Lloyd Rapelje Officer Recruit Training Academy. Retired Assistant Deputy Director Rapelje spoke with the graduates and their families through a Facebook Live event, which allowed MDOC training staff, the recruits, and their family and friends to celebrate while adhering to current social distancing guidelines.
As our new officers head to their assigned facilities and into their next phase of training, we would like to thank the members of our recruitment team, academy training staff, and the facility staff members who will continue to work with our newest colleagues as they begin their careers in corrections.
