Описание к видео Systema with Mark J: Training to See Attacks, A Progression

Training to see an attack coming at the earliest possible moment has great value in martial arts and self-defense. There will be visual clues as the attacker assesses the situation and makes the decision to attack. Reading those clues at the earliest moment increases our chances of survival.

This video shows a progression training set on how to train to see the attack, how to sharpen instinct and build a progression drill to study this important part of training.

Progression drills are an important part of the Systema, Russian Martial Art, however, this method can be utilized in martial arts or sporting activities. Start at a very basic level, slowly add more pieces to the puzzle, study the impact/challenge of each new part, always review and apply the initial parts of the drill, and challenge by going to any level of intensity and speed.

Mark Jakabcsin started training in martial arts in 1975 and Systema in 2001. In this video, Mark shares some thoughts on how to use and train the eyes, but this is not a comprehensive work.

This drill set can and should be done using all types of attacks. Kicking, knife slashes, multiple attackers, etc. Be creative in your training.
