'India's Schindler and his Palaces - The Extraordinary Story of the Maharaja of Jamnagar and his Legacy' was the eighth lecture in the series 'Resilience: Historic Houses of India and Their Custodians' with Princess Hershad Kumari, Shri R K Sukhdeosinhji and Ms. Anu Radha, conducted by the Centre for Historic Houses of India at OP Jindal Global University.

This week the Centre for Historic Houses of India is in conversation with Princess Hershad Kumari ji, eldest daughter of H.E. Jam Saheb DigvijaySinhji RanjitSinhji Jadeja, erstwhile Maharaja of Jamnagar (then Nawanagar), Shri Sukhdeo Sinhji, nephew of Jam Saheb and Documentary Filmmaker Ms. Anu Radha of the first Indo-Polish Coproduction ' A Little Poland in India' on the 21st of August at 8:00 PM (IST).

The city of Nawanagar later called Jamnagar was founded in 1540 AD by Ram Rawal. Straddled between two rivers, Rangmati and Nagmati, Nawanagar meaning ‘new town’, started to grow around the city palace, the ‘Darbargarh’. Nawanagar since 1959 came to be known as Jamnagar City after the Jam rulers.
