Episode 2: Wowwww… this episode really made me understand just how big of an impact Himmel had on Frieren. This was actually so romantic and nostalgic that it made me cry. This story has a way of hitting the heart strings… something that we can ALL relate to is the feeling of nostalgia. I saw a quote once googles who wrote it by Laird Barron that says, “Nostalgia is a memory poisoned by the anguish of loss”. This episode made me think of that… because memories can be beautiful, but they can be painful as well. I feel like Frieren is going to be trying to figure her feelings for Himmel out… I don’t even think SHE is 100% sure about WHAT she felt…but the way she looked at Himmel when he put that flower crown on her… that really said something. Whether it is platonic or romantic, Frieren LOVED Himmel. I NEED to dive into Himmel MORE… he seemingly has a pompous, cocky side and a sweet, caring, heroic side.
