करैटोकोनस का आधुनिक इलाज T-CAT + C3R | Topo-Guided Custom Ablation Treatment with C3R @Eye7 Hospital

इस विडियो मे डॉ राहिल चौधरी ने, केराटोकोनस (#Keratoconus) के इलाज के लिए - एक नई तकनीक के बारे मे चर्चा की है और साथ ही मे इसकी लाइव सर्जरी भी दिखाई है।

इस नई तकनीक का नाम है: "T-CAT with C3R" (टी-कैट और सी3आर), जिसका पूरा नाम "Topo-guided Custom Ablation Treatment with Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking with Riboflavin" है।
इसे Topo-guided Epi Contoura with C3R भी कहा जाता है।

केराटोकोनस के इलाज मे इस्तेमाल की जाने वाली इस नई तकनीक के 2 बड़े फायदे हैं:
1. इसमे केराटोकोनस को बढ्ने से तो रोका ही जाता है
2. साथ ही काली पुतली की सतह को भी ठीक किया जाता है
ताकि केराटोकोनस के रोगी को चश्मे की मदद से पहले से भी ज्यादा साफ नज़र आए।

एक जरूरी बात:
इस तकनीक मे, केराटोकोनस रोगी का चश्मे के नंबर नहीं हटाया जाता, केवल चश्मे के साथ नज़र को थोड़ा बेहतर किया जा सकता है ।

कुछ केराटोकोनस रोगी जिनमे काली पुतली (कॉर्निया) की मोटाई अच्छी हो तो थोड़ा बहुत नंबर भी ठीक किया जा सकता है पर पूरी तरह चश्मा हटाना संभव नहीं है।

केराटोकोनस रोगी को पूरी तरह से चश्मे से छुटकारे के लिए, C3R या T-AT with C3R करने के 3 महीने बाद ICL लेंस या Intacs Rings लगवाने होते है।

The name of this new technology is: "T-CAT with C3R" which stands for Topo-guided Custom Ablation Treatment with Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking with Riboflavin
It is also called Topo-guided Epi Contoura with C3R.

This new technique for Keratoconus Treatment has two major advantages:
1. Keratoconus is stabilized (using C3R)
2. It also smooths the Corneal surface simultaneously (using Epi Contoura)
hence enables Keratoconus Patients see more clearly with glasses than ever before.


Most important Information:
This is NOT a Specs Removal Surgery for Keratoconus Patients, It can only improve "the vision with glasses".

For a few keratoconus patients with good corneal thickness, a slight specs power can also be corrected during this surgery but it is not possible to remove the glasses completely.

In order to completely get rid of the glassed or hard contact lenses,
Keratoconus patients first need to get C3R or T-CAT with C3R and then after 3 months, they need to get ICL Surgery or Intacs Rings surgery done.
