This is my percussion ensemble arrangement of Beach from Pokémon Snap. This was performed by Open World Percussion live at VGM CON 2024.

I attended VGM CON in-person last weekend and am extremely thankful to have been able to perform with these awesome VGM percussionists! We've all been hanging out via Discord and gaming together, but getting to meet them in-person and perform with them was truly a life exchanging experience. I'm incredibly lucky to have such amazing friends! :D

Each of us arranged at least one tune for our set. Since I'm using to arranging for a bigger ensemble size, it was a fun challenge arranging for only five percussionists. Matt specifically asked us to arrange in a way that showed off cool percussion things, so I made sure to include some fun percussion multi-tasking in here. Matt played glockenspiel in one hand and shaker in the other; Nico did the same with marimba (two notes in one hand via 4-mallet technique but only in one hand) and tambourine!

We had one two-hour rehearsal to practice all 11 songs for our set. This was the first time many of us got to practice on a 5.0 octave marimba (and me graduated vibraphone bars), but thanks to everyone's professionalism we made every minute count and put on a great performance!
