E36 M3: Sunroof Cassette Repair - How to Fix a Broken Sunroof on a BMW E36 3-Series

Since I have been driving the E36 M3 more as of late, I have been enjoying opening up the sunroof on my evening cruises. Unfortunately, it stopped operating smoothly after too many opens/closes. We took the cassette out of the car and show you how we got it to work. In our case, it was the metal stoppers on each side of the cassette that caused the cable to pop out, which then caused the copper tubing to come out of its socket. Mike F walks us through how we went about repairing it for good.
