Wali Daad Bhandara now lives in 28 DP near Pakpattan, Punjab, Pakistan. His father's name was Mian Dilawar Khan and grandfather's name was Mian Fateh Din Bhandara.
His family migrated from Dewan Khera, district Fazilka, in 1947. They were big landlords of the area. They built a beautiful mosque in Dewan Khera and they had two huge havelis.
They had lands in Dewan Khera, Koel Khera and Bakainwala villages. They had to leave all behind.
In Koel Khera, about 200 hindus and sikhs were killed in crossfire opened by ambushed muslims.
Sappanwali was attacked and ten or so muslims were killed and about 45 injured were brought to Dewan Khera hospital for treatment.
'Bhandara' means a generous man who provides food, the name was given by hunger struck hindus during famine of 1899. Mian Fateh Din provided food and shelter to hundreds of people during famine.
Actually their caste was Rai Kharal.
