SNRG SmartGrid at Hook Norton | Sustainable Homes

SNRG has fully funded and supplied a solar and battery SmartGrid on behalf of the Hook Norton Community Land Trust (HNCLT) in Oxfordshire, England.

The development has been built by Greencore Homes and designed by Charlie Luxton, renowned TV presenter and sustainable architectural designer.

The Hook Norton project is a mixed-use new build and retrofit project.

There are 12 new climate-positive homes - four houses and eight flats - plus a new community centre, cafe and two motel rooms.

An existing sports centre already had a large solar array, but couldn't use all of the energy it produced.

SNRG integrated the sports centre into the SmartGrid, so that the excess solar could be used by the homes or stored in the battery. This reduces the cost for the sports centre and residents.

SNRG will also manage 6 new EV chargers, powered by the SmartGrid, for a communal car club.
