Through humor and amazing macro photography, conservation photographer Danae Wolfe highlights how bugs truly fit the mold of “wildlife we love to conserve” despite many peoples’ fear and aversion to such creatures. Your view of bugs might never be the same after seeing these endearing photo stories of how bugs are cute, how bugs provide value, and how bugs are a lot more like us than many think.

Danae is an expert macro photographer with specialization in macro insect and spider photography. She has been photographing the small wonders of the natural world for nearly 20 years. Danae Wolfe is a bug and botanical portrait photographer with a passion for nature education. She is an expert macro photographer with a passion for invertebrate conservation. Danae’s work focuses largely on increasing public understanding and appreciation of insects and spiders and their role in both human and natural systems. Her most recent photography project, Early Risers, depicts insects and spiders awakening with the sunrise.

Danae works with the Ohio State University Extension where she has taught state and national audiences about topics ranging from invasive plants and pollinators to digital engagement. She also teaches photography workshops and manages a photography website and Facebook page.
