Overland GOLD in the Lost Sierra, pt 1

Day 1 of our adventure to the Lost Sierra of Northern California. The 204 mile long Lost Sierra 4x4 Trail is an epic adventure through the old gold fields of the Northern Sierra. The route features 32 discovery points including stops at old mining claims and camps, two ghost towns, passes by dozens of looks and 3 lookouts.

On day 1 we begin our adventure on Cal-Ida road, visit saddleback mountain, and then take the first part of poker flat to jump over towards the official beginning of the route near Howland City Ghost Town. We end up camping at the famed Slate Creek Diggings for the night while the kids shake their hands at prospecting for gold.
