This 1943 propaganda film "Negro Colleges in War Time" was produced by the Office of War Information Bureau of Motion Pictures and looks at the different contributions being made at Black universities. It shows the campuses and activities at famous Black universities including Tuskegee University, Prairie View College, Howard University, and the Hampton Institute. Students are shown learning vital skills to the war effort including agricultural studies, mechanical engineering, flying and medical training. It also focuses on fields open to women, including in agriculture, science, and mechanics. The film also shows the renowned agricultural scientist George Washington Carver.

He was one of the most prominent black scientists of the early 20th century.
