Eastern Sierra | Well-known as the highest peak in the contiguous U.S., the summit sits at 14,505ft.
Mt. Whitney Mountaineer's Route - February 27th, 2022. The trip began at the second gate around 3am, base of the chute at 930am, notch at 11am, summit at noon, and back at the car at 6pm for a 15 hour day. It'd been a while since being in the high sierra and this was a beautiful squeeze into the weekend.
Conditions as of this date : Highest running water was at the ledges. Traverse is mostly snow. Final 400, the first half is mainly rock. Be careful with hydration hoses freezing =)
